Default 2005+ C6 Corvette fog light HID swap DIY [PICS]

This isn't hard, but I had it and figure I'd throw it up.

I couldn't stand how dull the stock Fog Lights were, so I threw in a set of H10 6000K 55W HIDs to replace the 42W Halogens.

    Start with a clean car:

THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE STOCK:

Prop up the car on jack stands, and take the front wheels off. Don't forget to loosen the lug nuts before you jack the car up,
    it makes things easier.

We need to take off this panel to access the fog lights. Taking the wheel off sure makes things MUCH easier! Use two screwdrivers to pop up the CENTER plastic piece and then pull out the whole assembly.
Pushing the center in locks the plug in place, so dont try to pry it out without the center popped up!

There we go, we can finally get the real work started.

    The wiring is REALLY simple.
    * Unplug your stock headlamps.
    * Twist it counterclockwise and pull it out slowly.
    * Insert the HID bulb - Take care not to touch the bulb. If you think the bulbs are dirty, clean the bulbs GENTLY with an alcohol pad/solution.
    * Bulb orientation DOES MATTER in this case. Take a minute to study the 3 prong pattern and match it. The shielded wire goes on the BOTTOM when properly installed.
    * Plug the bare blades plug into the car's connector (Blue to Purple)
    * Use electrical tape to secure the connection.
    * Plug in female end into the transformer.
    * Plug in the unique ends of the bulb connector to the bulbs.

    After wiring was done:

Secure the wires, and you're good to go.
Just look at the difference between the left (HID) and right (Stock).
There is no comparison, I'm really pleased with the results!
I turned the flash off to get a true comparison.

This is after both were installed. You'll notice the stock 4300*K is noticeable warmer than the 6000K fog lights.

This was done ~15 months ago and it's still going strong...

I definitely saw this coming lol.

Thanks for the comments on the pics. Stupid point and shoot cameras are such a pain to work with! I took over 20 pictures know most will turn out like crap.

I have a D300 planned when the budget allows. The camera comes pre-loaded with skill I hear

I'm gonna leave the car as-is for now. Eventually I think I'll get 6K 55W bulbsd in there and replace the fogs with 3Ks. The bulbs are kinda expensive (D1S) and honestly I have no clue how I even get to em. I guess the assembly may just pop out with a screw.

I also want to replace the license plate bulbs with LEDs (so much better looking).

Why isn't that American car owners don't rock Yellow fog lights? B/c FOG lights SHOULD be yellow. My mustang/x-runner both have yellow fogs.

Anyways, nice write-up. Not man Z0 owners here to jump on this though.

I dont even understand why fog lights exist. It's not like we spend entire days in fog. The fog light yellow thing is a myth to begin with. Yellow doesn't really do shit.

I just wanted more light. So technically these are driving lights. With em on - I notice people gtfo of the left lane quicker when I come up behind em em at 100mph.

I wrote this up over a year ago at corvetteforum. I just copy/posted lol. C6s are the same thing.
